Manjimup Home and Community Care

Commonwealth Home Support Program

A Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) is available for seniors who need simple support.

Funded by the Australian Government, CHSP services can help you live a more independent life at home.

If you need some help around the house or think it’s time to look into aged care homes, My Aged Care is here to help. My Aged Care is the Australian Government’s starting point on your aged care journey. Find and access the government-funded services you need.

What does CHSP cost?

Funding

If approved for CHSP, much of the cost will be covered by your funding

Hourly Fees

You’ll only be asked to contribute a modest hourly fee for the services you receive

Financial Hardship

If you are experiencing financial hardship, you might be able to have this waived

Are you Eligible for CHSP?

Eligibility for this program is based on your support needs and age. If you’re having trouble with everyday tasks and feel that a little support could improve your health and wellbeing, CHSP could be right for you.

To be eligible for this program, you must be aged:

  • 65 years or older (50 years or older for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people), or
  • 50 years or older (45 years or older for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) and on a low income, homeless, or at risk of being homeless.

If your needs are more complex, a Home Care Package could be better suited to you.
